Corporate Social Responsibility: An Emerging Form of Risk Management in Europe

In March 2005 a group of Columbia MBA students met with European corporate representatives during a study trip to France and Belgium. Here, three of those students examine innovative approaches to risk management in the form of corporate social responsibility.

From March 5–12, 2005, a group of Columbia MBA students participated in a study tour to France and Belgium organized by the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business and the Social Enterprise Program. Based on their interactions with corporate representatives from the European Commission, BNP Paribas Asset Management, Deminor Rating SA, The European Social Investment Forum, Transparency International, Groupe Danone, Viego the European Academy of Business in Society and the World Wildlife Fund European Policy Office, three of those students examine innovative approaches to risk management in the form of corporate social responsibility.
