How did two Columbia Business School alumni manage their time and resources to take their unique online dating business to the next level?

In July 2012, two years after launching their online dating site, DateMySchool, co-founders Jean Meyer and Balazs Alexa, both 2011 graduates of Columbia Business School, had recently wrapped up a successful round of Series A financing. As managers, Meyer and Alexa were hands-on and extremely operationally focused—they believed in their platform’s technological superiority and managed their small team of employees as a tight-knit family. In this case, students view links to interviews with the founders (transcripts also provided) as well as information about the company’s business plan, to consider the management challenges the organization faced at this critical inflection point.
