One of the most elusive yet important challenges facing corporate
executives is the ability to sustain profitable growth in established
business enterprises.  This course explores the structural challenges to
achieving superior growth and critically examines the entrepreneurial
approaches utilized by successful growth enterprises. Through readings,
cases, class discussion, guest lecturers and student analysis, we will
examine how firms across a variety of product-based and services
industries tap new markets and outperform competition by maintaining an
entrepreneurial edge. Attention will be also paid to analyzing business
failures, as the lessons learned from understanding flaws in concept and
execution are highly instructive.
