Fall 2004 MBA Course

- 11:45AM to 01:15PM

This course will focus on the management and consequences of technology-based innovation. Some the question the course examines are: How new industries are created? How existing industries can be transformed by new technologies? What are the linkages between technological development and the creation of wealth? What are the management challenges of pursuing strategic innovation? The course takes an unorthodox and somewhat counter-intuitive view on the innovation process. It uses a mixture of cases, lectures, and other materials. The class is heavily discussion oriented. This course is suited for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs, general managers or consultants to general managers, in situations in which innovation in new products, services and technologies will be important.
