How do entertainment properties such as Harry Potter, Spider-Man and Pokemon generate billions in worldwide product sales? What makes shows such as American Idol television successes? What is the future of Independent films? How have social games like Farmville become worldwide phenomena? Each week, various areas of media will be examined from television, film, games and character entertainment. The course is intended to offer students:

  • Exposure to various marketing strategies used in media
  • An entrepreneurial approach to the media industry as a producer or manager of a content creation company and
  • Insights from preeminent guest speakers in the media industry¬†
