B9301-075: Venture Capital Investment Decision Making

Students to receive lectures and participate in discussions on the basics and intricacies of the venture capital investment process, primarily focused on the investing decision. Discussions will be supported by case studies. Students will form teams of 4 that will each identify on their own one small-cap public company to research and analyze as a venture or leveraged buyout opportunity and present written and verbal reports to the rest of the class at the preliminary stage and final stage of the investment decision.  Students will be expected to plan and conduct a comprehensive research effort on their chosen company, including talking/meeting with management and other significant industry participants and analysts.  They will need to document the research and write an extensive Final Investment Recommendation.
