Using the paradigm developed in previous classes, this course builds a framework for financial decision making in an international setting. International capital budgeting and the determination of the appropriate cost of capital are examined in the context of direct foreign investment, leveraged buyouts, initial public offerings, equity carve out, and international mergers and acquisitions.

Shmuel Baruch

Adjunct Associate ProfessorShmuel Baruch is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Utah, currently on sabbatical leave at Columbia University. He received his PhD from Washington University in St. Louis. Professor Baruch taught finance at Utah, Princeton University, and the London Business School. His research focuses on the economics of trading securities.
