Center for Research on Environmental Decisions
The Center for Decision Sciences is a partner of the Center for Research on Environmental Decisions (CRED), an interdisciplinary body that studies individual and group decision making under climate uncertainty and decision making in the face of environmental risk. The center will use a better understanding of decision processes to create education and outreach activities that facilitate adaptation to climate variability and climate change. Decision tools developed at CRED will help people use available but uncertain information to improve their decision making.
CRED currently serves as an umbrella for 16 projects conducted by 24 researchers at eight universities. Research projects include a wide range of decision makers (e.g., farmers, water resource managers, etc.) in a range of geographical regions across the globe. Its objectives address the human responses to climate change and climate variability as well as improved communication and increased use of scientific information on climate variability and change.
