Doing Business With a Changing China

Breakthrough China Strategy

In the next phase of China’s economic reforms, the focus will shift from exports to consumption. The country’s top organizations will compete on innovation, not cost, and will challenge global market leaders. Growth will slow, but China will still create the equivalent of a country the size of Greece every three months. More than ever, Western business executives need to understand China’s changing landscape in order to take advantage of the opportunities and grapple with the challenges presented by China 2.0.

Doing Business With a Changing China is the only executive program of its kind in the U.S. Conducted in partnership with China’s own Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), this compact, three-day program provides a concise yet comprehensive overview of where China is and more importantly, where it’s headed. Participants will gain critical insights on macro trends, emerging opportunities, how to compete or collaborate with Chinese companies, and how to reach the diverse Chinese consumer. At the end of the program, participants will have a clear understanding of how to position China within their own organization.

Learn and Network with Chinese CEOs

The program features a unique day-long event that brings participants together with a group of more than 50 Chinese CEOs attending a parallel Columbia Business School program. In plenary and breakout sessions as well as networking events, the two groups will interact and exchange ideas on key business and leadership issues. Participants will leave with practical insights, best practices, and even key contacts to help their organization succeed with China.

All sessions are conducted in English and participants should be proficient in the language. Simultaneous and sequential translation will be provided as necessary for the joint session and networking events with Chinese CEOs.

Combining the Thought Leadership of Two Top Business Schools

Doing Business With a Changing China combines the resources and thought leadership of two top business schools – Columbia Business School from the United States and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) from China – to present a one-of-a-kind program here in the U.S. on doing business with China. Anchored on solid research and on-the-ground knowledge, the program goes beyond sensational media headlines to explore the realities of China's economic transformation and its implications to global business.

Learn and Network with Chinese CEOs

The program features a unique full-day session that brings together participants with more than 50 CEOs from top Chinese companies attending a parallel Columbia Business School program. Through classroom interaction and networking activities, participants will have the rare opportunity to engage their Chinese counterparts on an intellectual as well as social basis.
