Jeff Immelt, Rochelle Lazarus ’70 and Russell Carson ’67
A packed auditorium of 650 MBA and Executive MBA students enthusiastically greeted Jeff Immelt, CEO of General Electric, who gave a lecture at the School as part of the Silfen Leadership Series. The event gave students the opportunity to hear from and question Immelt on leadership, corporate governance and the economy.
The School hosts several similarly prominent figures in the next month: Rochelle Lazarus ’70, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather, will address the School in an event cohosted by the Silfen Leadership Series and Columbia Women in Business. Later in the month, Russell L. Carson ’67, general partner at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, will receive the 2002 Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics and share his thoughts on ethics and leadership.
Dialogue between industry leaders and students is an essential part of the Columbia MBA experience. Drawing upon a vast alumni network and corporate contacts, the School provides students with unparalleled access to renowned business executives.
