One of my favorite moments was in one of our accounting classes towards the end of my first semester — the professor mentioned taxes and it sparked a debate. As a class, we spent 50 minutes discussing the issue of government involvement and regulation in business. We threw in examples from almost every continent and opinions ranged from the extremely fiscally conservative to the far-left liberals. It made me realize how lucky I am to be in a place that allows for so much healthy disagreement in the safest environment possible.
