Penny Low
Founder and President, Social Innovation Park


Penny Low is a veteran community builder and member of the Parliament of Singapore. In 2001, she became the youngest elected female member. She chaired six government parliamentary committees for the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Arts as well as the S’pore-Peru Parliament Friendship Group. She has served on boards at such organizations as the JetLi One Foundation, Operation Hope, and the Commonwealth Business Council.

Ms. Low has pioneered many enterprises in financial services, education, and social innovation. In 2008, she created the Global Social Innovators Forum, which convenes leaders from across regions and sectors. In 2006, she founded the Social Innovation Park, a global movement advocating a more inclusive and sustainable world. She also founded the Social Enterprise Association. Ms. Low has spoken at such global events as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the World Knowledge Forum. She coedited Practicing Sustainability (Springer, 2012), which won the silver Nautilus Book Award. Among her many honors, she was named an Aspen Ideas Festival Scholar in 2010 and a Yale World Fellow and Scholar 2007.
