Dr. Seungpil Yu is the Chairman and CEO of Yuyu Pharmaceuticals, a South Korean company that engages in the research, development, manufacture and marketing of medicines for osteoporosis, circulative disorder, stroke, and dementia. Under his leadership, Yuyu has experienced significant growth and was recognized by Forbes magazine as Asia’s 200 Best Under A Billion in 2006.

Dr. Yu is involved with various organizations. Currently he is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Haiti in South Korea and is a Board Member for the World Self-Medication Industry (WSMI). In 2001 he was the President of the Korean Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (KPMA) and previously the Chairman of the Columbia University Alumni Association of Korea. He is an active member of the Chief Executive Organization (CEO) Club of Korea and the Changchung Rotary Club. For his various contributions to the public, Dr. Seungpil Yu received the Order of Civil Merit - Medal of Moran in 2003. It is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Republic of Korea.

Dr. Yu earned both his MBA in 1971 and his PhD in International Business in 1979 from Columbia University. He had taught courses in managerial finance, capital budgeting and research projects at Pace University in New York City until he joined Yuyu Pharmaceuticals in 1983.
