Peer advisors play an integral role in the Columbia community, guiding our new students through their transition to the School.
As many current students and alumni will tell you, these advisors are a crucial part of fall and spring orientations, as they help the new class hit the ground running. Over the course of the school year, they also play a key leadership role in the Program on Social Intelligence as coaches and advisors to first-year study groups.
To become peer advisors, students are selected through an application and interview process. Those who take part in the program find it incredibly rewarding. They go through extensive leadership training, building skills that are helpful at Columbia and beyond, and they develop lasting bonds.
