Professor Michael Morris and former PhD student Emily Amanatullah (now at McCombs School of Business) find that women are better at negotiating for others than for themselves, due to the potential of social backlash for being self-assertive. Their study, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, was featured online at ForbesFinancial Times, CBS News, The Globe and Mail and Vault.
