Class of 1978: Class Notes

Faith Tomases
Faith Tomases writes: "My insights for being a successful entrepreneur have been included in The Graphic Designer’s Business Survival Guide by Lawrence J. Daniels, recently published by the American Management Association and available on Amazon."
Tonia Papke Waterbury (tonia@mdiconsult.com)
Papke Waterbury writes: “I spent five weeks in Reading, PA with the Obama presidential campaign, working to get out the Hispanic vote. It was exciting to spend time with this community and get them engaged in national politics.”
Machiko Miki Kashiwagi (MKashiwagi78@gsb.columbia.edu)
In February 2010, Eduardo Verano, the governor of the State of Atlantico in Colombia, and his wife, Lilianna, invited friends from the class of '78 for the Carnival in Barranquilla. Michael Murray-Bruce and his wife, Alex (from Lagos, Nigeria), Marco Gomez and his wife, Jill (from Miami), Marianne Balaz, Tom Bingham, Patrick and Carolyn Dolan, Pepi Kochhar, Sue Pinco and Miki Kashiwagi (from New York) traveled to Barranquilla and spent four days filled of fun. "More fun than grown men and women should have", one member noted. In addition to the Carnival festivities and a trip to Cartagena, the group attended a reception hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Colombia, William Brown, and an unforgettable concert by Juan Luis Guerra. Their visit was heavily covered in the local press due to the host's political position. Next destination for this group of fun seekers: India in February 2011...
