Class Notes

Alan Iny
Alan Iny '03 has the pleasure of a job focused entirely on creativity in the business world, with The Boston Consulting Group. His book Thinking in New Boxes: A New Paradigm for Business Creativity, written with his colleague Luc de Brabandere, will be released by Random House Publishing in September 2013. Advance praise in a starred review from Publish

Matthew Jacobs
In December 2012, Governor Jerry Brown appointed Matthew Jacobs to the Board of Directors of the California Housing Finance Agency. For more than 35 years, the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) has supported the needs of renters and first-time homebuyers by providing financing and programs that create safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income Californians. Established in 1975, CalHFA was chartered as the State's affordable housing bank to make low interest rate loans through the sale of tax-exempt bonds. CalHFA is a completely self-supporting State agency, and its bonds are repaid by revenues generated through mortgage loans, not taxpayer dollars.

Gillian Fein (gillian@lalalunchbox.com)

Gillian Fein created and launched LaLa Lunchbox, a new app for the iPhone. Within one month, it became a top 10 app, receiving favorable reviews from the New York Times, Maria Popova and Swiss-Miss.com, among others.

LaLa Lunchbox is a fun and easy way for parents and kids to plan and pack lunch. The app is designed to empower kids and save money and time. Parents can find out more about it at www.lalalunchbox.com.

Gillian spent nearly a decade working in healthcare. She left that world to start up LaLa Lunchbox and to spend more time with her two (soon to be three) children.
