Xavier Robert Rolet ’84

Xavier Robert Rolet has been the chief executive officer of CQS Management Ltd, a global Investment Company, since January 14, 2019. Prior to that, he was the chief executive officer of the London Stock Exchange Group from May 2009 to December 2017.

Before working at the London Stock Exchange Group, Mr. Rolet was the co-head of global equity & derivatives trading for Lehman Brothers in New York, head of European and Asian equities in London, and chief executive officer of Banque Lehman Brothers in Paris. Other positions that Mr. Rolet has held include global head of risk and trading at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, global head of European equities at Credit Suisse First Boston, and the vice president and co-head of European equities at Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Rolet is a member of the board of overseers of Columbia Business School, an honorary fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, and a former member of the financial services trade and investment board of HM Treasury. Since October 2017, he has been a member of the committee of expert advisers at the Department for International Trade. He was a member of Prime Minister David Cameron's business advisory group, and in October 2015 he was appointed an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Among many other accomplishments, Mr. Rolet was named in the 2017 Harvard Business Review's List of the Best 100 CEOs in the World.

Mr. Rolet is a founding member of Peaccel SAS, a bio-informatics and biotech Company; goAfrica, a B2B e-commerce and logistics business delivering Chinese manufactured and consumer goods throughout Africa; and Chene Bleu Wines, a bio-dynamic premium winery in France’s Southern Rhone viticultural district.

After graduating from the KEDGE Business School with an MSc in management science and finance in 1981, Mr. Rolet served as a second lieutenant and instructor at the French Air Force Academy. He earned an MBA from Columbia Business School in 1984 and a post-graduate degree from the Paris-based IHEDN (Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence) in 2008.
