Keith Banks is vice chairman of Global Wealth and Investment Management at Bank of America. He also oversees the Chief Investment Office (CIO) and the Investment Solutions Group (ISG) for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and US Trust. Together, the combined CIO and ISG teams deliver a disciplined investment process through industry-leading platforms, product capabilities, and investment insights aligned to the goals-based approach and client experience framework. Mr. Banks is a board member of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, and is a past member of Bank of America's Global Diversity and Inclusion Council.

Mr. Banks previously served as president of US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, which provides integrated investment, trust, banking, and lending services to wealthy and ultra-wealthy clients.

During his career at Bank of America, he also served as president of Global Private Client, Institutional, and Investment Management; president of Global Wealth and Investment Management; and president and chief investment officer of Columbia Management. He joined Bank of America in 2004, following FleetBoston Financial’s merger with the bank. Prior to this, Mr. Banks held the roles of CIO and CEO of FleetBoston Financial’s asset management organization after joining the company in 2000.

Prior to joining FleetBoston, Mr. Banks was a managing director and head of US equity for JP Morgan Investment Management. During his 16-year career at JP Morgan, Mr. Banks also served as global head of equity research, head of US equity research and a portfolio manager, and equity research analyst for the chemical and textile industries, which was his first role at the firm when he started in 1984. Mr. Banks began his investment career as an equity analyst at Home Insurance in 1981.

Mr. Banks earned his BA in economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Rutgers University, and his MBA degree in finance from Columbia Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the American Bankers Association Investment Advisory Committee. Mr. Banks sits on the Board of Advisors at Columbia University Medical Center. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Lincoln Center and is a Director of the Police Athletic League of New York.
