Shaiza M. Rizavi is a partner and portfolio manager at Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co. (GGHC), a New York-based growth-equity brokerage and investment management firm with over $5 billion in assets under management. She has been with the firm since graduating from the Business School in 1996. She began her career in Southeast Asia, analyzing opportunities for global replication of successful youth development programs after receiving a BS from Vanderbilt University. Ms. Rizavi serves on the boards of trustees of the American Museum of Natural History, the Calhoun School, and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. She is also a member of the Economic Club of New York and the NationSwell Council, a digital media company focused on American innovation and renewal. Ms. Rizavi and her husband, Jon Friedland ’97, live in New York. They have four children.

At Columbia Business School, Ms. Rizavi has been a member of the advisory board of the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise (and its predecessor, the Social Enterprise Program) since 2005, and is a member of the Tamer Center Investment Board.
