Vice Dean for External Relations, External Relations and Development

Beth Brown became vice dean of External Relations and Development at Columbia Business School in May 2019. In this role, Brown serves as principal gifts fundraiser, overseeing a department of 63 full-time professionals, including teams focused on major gifts, individual giving, alumni relations, advancement services, corporate relations, and strategic communications.

Brown has served in several roles at Columbia Business School since she joined in 2013, including senior associate director of individual giving, executive director of alumni relations, and associate dean of external relations and development. She was instrumental in the planning and execution of the School’s Centennial celebration and the fundraising efforts for the Pan-European Forum in Paris.

Prior to her career at Columbia, Brown worked in development in the healthcare industry. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University.
