Nonfungible tokens (NFT) are a hot new technology that enables collectors to own original digital art and other unique digitized assets. As they rose to prominence and gained greater acceptance and mindshare among investors, artists and collectors, one must determine the enduring viability of this technology. In this case, students are introduced to NFT technology, how they are exchanged on marketplaces, and other considerations such as the environmental impact and trajectory of different players. Students are also asked to assess the sustainability of value of NFTs and impact of possible new regulations and legal challenges.
