This note explores the global environment and instances of systemic oppression across numerous countries in different continents (including: Rwanda and South Africa in Africa; China, India and Singapore in Asia; Australia and New Zealand; Roma in Europe; Mexico and the United States in North America; and Brazil in South America). Students will gain an understanding of the prevalence and form of inequality as well as the historical and current forces that drive these challenges.
