In the spring of 2008, GM was faced with continually rising commodity prices and looming declines in demand for automobiles. This case details the competitive and macroeconomic challenges facing the automobile giant at the onset of the financial crisis, and asks students to analyze data (provided in a supplementary spreadsheet) in order to recommend the best course of action.
