In 2020, Tesla, Inc., was a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Yet the road ahead for the company remained far from certain, with production challenges to scale up EV and battery manufacturing to meet growing demand, significant investments required to create a global network of charging stations, and new entrants and incumbents committing billions of dollars to enter the EV market. As the global EV market became more competitive, and with consumer demand still uncertain, there were also concerns around a supply glut of EVs with the large number of new EV models expected to hit the market.
