Achilles Venetoulias has over 25 years’ experience in taking and managing risk, and in creating and running businesses. He founded and ran two hedge funds, one specializing in volatility and one in a systematic portfolio strategy for absolute and relative returns. He also founded and helped manage a fintech company that made advanced financial tools widely accessible through an innovative technological platform. Achilles has taken proprietary risk for large institutions, has supervised the investment process for a European fund of hedge funds, and has served on the Board of a fund of hedge funds for an international wealth management firm. Most recently, he oversaw portfolio analytics for a large family office, where he was a member of the senior risk committee.
Early in his career, Achilles taught at the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He has a number of publications, and holds a Ph.D. in Statistics and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Columbia University.
