Lan To is the Associate Director for Programs in Social Enterprise in Executive Education. In this role, Lan is responsible for designing and facilitating executive education programs that are responsive to the needs of leaders in the nonprofit sector as well as individuals and businesses committed to social enterprise. Lan provides executive coaching, constructs curriculum and works closely with both clients and foundation partners to optimize results for learning, integration and application.
Much of Lan’s life’s work has centered around gathering and supporting networks of people from diverse and varied backgrounds who are eager to make a difference in the world. She is committed to creating learning environments and spaces that foster a supportive sense of safety in order for individuals to grow into an encouraging course for bravery.
Prior to joining the Business School, Lan was at the Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation as a coordinator for their Leadership Congress, taught through American Honda Education Corporation at Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center as the Life After Eagle Rock Counselor and Instructional Specialist, and was the Director for Post-Secondary Initiatives for Good Shepherd Services in New York City.
Lan holds a B.A. in History & International Studies from Rhodes College and an M.S.W. from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She is certified through Columbia Business School Executive Education in Organizational Strategy, the Andrus Institute in Trauma-informed Practice and Cornell University in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools. Lan is also trained in Facilitation for Racial Justice through the Interaction Institute for Social Change and in Executive Coaching through Columbia’s Teachers College.
