This course (formerly "Options Markets") provides an overview of derivative securities, including forward and futures contracts, options and swaps. The course will cover equity options, fixed income options, options embedded in other securities, and other specialized derivatives (e.g., credit derivatives, volatility derivatives and employee stock options). For each type of derivative security we will describe their important features, how they are used in trading and risk management, and how they are valued. Emphasis will be placed on the practical applications of derivatives and developing solid intuition. Excel will be used in class and will be required for the course work.
