REAP (ReEntry Acceleration Program) Immersion is a 12 week 1.5 credit course offered in the spring and fall semesters, which gives current and future business leaders the opportunity to teach a business curriculum at a local prison facility.
MBA/EMBA student instructors will be pre-enrolled to take B8580 in either the fall OR spring semester, based on which teaching team each person has been assigned to (and when these courses will be offered at the correctional facility).
- Spring teaching teams: entrepreneurship (Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship), and managerial negotiations (Getting to Yes);
- Fall teaching teams: financial literacy (Financial Empowerment, and Achieving Success in Personal Finance).
An invitation to apply for this course is sent out in April by email to MBA and EMBA students. Selected students will be required to be approved by the facility and Department of Corrections and attend a mandatory volunteers training provided by the facility.
Please note: B8584 REAP: Reforming Mass Incarceration and the Role of Business is only offered in September and is a pre-requisite for B8580 in the spring (and is a co-requisite for B8580 in the fall).
