Important Dates

Important dates should be kept in mind while planning events. On dates when the school is closed, CBS rooms will be blocked from allowing for room reservations. Off campus events can still be planned and promoted through the OrgSync system.

Fall 2017

Students

Blackout Dates

Club programming begins Wednesday, September 13

  • Club programming ends Tuesday, December 12
  • Club programming can take place Monday through Thursday before 9:00AM and after 5:45PM and on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 12:30PM-2:00PM
  • Club programming can take place anytime on Friday, Saturday or Sunday 
  • Board meetings can take place outside of above times as long as attendees do not have class. This is subject to the honor code. 

No club events may be held during the following black out dates or periods:

  • Tuesday, September 19 (12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.) – School-wide CBS Matters
  • Thursday, September 28 (12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.) – State of the School
  • Tuesday, October 17 - Tuesday, October 24 – Study/Exam/Break
  • Tuesday, November 7 – Election Day
  • Wednesday, November 22 - Friday, November 24 – Thanksgiving
  • Thursday, December 7 (after 2 p.m.) – Follies

Last day to hold summer club or cluster events: Tuesday, December 12

Event and/or reimbursement requests submitted during blackout periods will not be approved.

  • Tuesday, September 12th 4:30-6:00pm, Faculty and Staff Reception
  • Tuesday, September 28th 12:30-2pm, State of the School (2nd year students only)
  • Tuesday, October 3rd 2:30-3:30pm, State of the School (Full Faculty and Staff)
  • Tuesday, November 7th, Election Day- University Wide Holiday
  • Thursday, November 23rd, Thanksgiving Day-University Wide Holiday
  • Friday, November 24th, University Designated Holiday, University Wide Holiday
  • Friday, December 22nd, Cut off date for Fall 2017 reservations

Important Notes

  • Please delete all past draft event requests in your queue.
  • Make sure that the on-campus button has been clicked if your event is on-campus, otherwise, your event will be viewed as TBD for its location.
  • Make sure that the room you choose has actually been selected before clicking the create event button.
  • Double check that your event appears in your event list, as well as in 25Live.
  • Please release rooms if your event has been canceled or if you no longer need the space.

  • Monday, May 29 – Memorial Day
  • Friday, June 2 (class day for all Monday and Monday/Wednesday A-term and full-term courses, including core)
  • Monday, June 26- Thursday June 29- Final Exams
  • Friday, June 30- Tuesday, July 4- No Classes/ Fourth of July
  • Tuesday, July 18, 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. (Dean’s Summer Lunch)
  • Thursday, July 20, 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. (Dean’s Summer Lunch Rain Date)
  • Wednesday, August 9 (Study Day)
  • Thursday, August 10 – Monday, August 14 (Exam Period)
