On March 8, the annual A. Lorne Weil Startup Pitch Competition was held, a student initiative that is managed and run by the Columbia Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO). The competition encourages Columbia Business School students to explore creative entrepreneurial ideas while learning firsthand what goes into the development and presentation of a solid business proposal.
Contestants submitted innovative ideas primarily focusing on ventures targeting food, sports, education and travel enthusiasts, all for a chance to win $14,000 in cash prizes. A. Lorne Weil '71 has been sponsoring the event for over 16 years. "I look forward to this competition every year and hope to continue supporting entrepreneusrhip at the school for many more years to come," said Lorne.

FIRST PLACE: Travefy solves the coordination problems of group travel. Travefy is a free online tool that helps groups simplify their travel.
