The program structure has three parts.
Part one focuses on team leadership and behavior including approaches to a team success formula. Participants take part in simulated meeting exercises to help identify behavioral styles and illustrate common conflicts between them. A toolkit for developing and leading high performance teams will be the takeaway from the day.
Part two addresses different team roles, the importance of team communication, and how to achieve consensus during a team’s decision-making process. Participants are engaged in a series of interactive team decision-making exercises, receiving feedback from faculty and peers. An app will be employed to provide additional feedback on your team dynamics and will be a takeaway tool for your on-the-job application.
Part three is centered on the power of persuasion. Learn how you and your team can leverage persuasion skills to influence stakeholders. Develop your personal team success strategy. Create an action plan for your return to your organization with a list of tools and concepts designed for immediate application for developing and leading effective teams back home.

"I believe that the best thing about the Developing and Leading High-Performance Teams course is the outcome. I say this because the teachings during the course are presented in such a way that the takeaway is simple, practical, and immediately usable.
Over the three day course, a key theme continued from professor to professor and day to day. The theme was the formula for developing and leading high performance teams. The first day we learned about the formula, the second day focused on how the formula applies to teams, and the third day focused on persuasion and negotiation using the formula. The tenets of the formula were repeated so much throughout the course that by the last day it felt as if I was habitually using it.
Back at work, the habit of using this formula continues — whether I am preparing for a meeting or doing something as simple as writing an email. I highly encourage others who are leading a team to find out more about this course as I believe it is truly impactful in developing and leading high performance teams."
"After leading teams for many years, I was pleasantly surprised that the program opened new doors and presented new ways of enhancing my role."
"This program helped me unlearn bad habits while providing me with new ways of doing things better at the same time."
"A must for all leaders of an organization. This program will change your ideas and leadership styles."
"Columbia's Developing and Leading High-Performance Teams program will greatly enhance the way you refocus your strengths to become more productive and effective in your business."
The program took me beyond the limits of what I previously grasped into new ways of thinking about teaming, persuasion and international leadership!
