"In order to adapt and thrive, organizations need leaders who can think strategically and harness each wave of digital change to create new value for customers and new opportunities for their business."
– David Rogers, the program's faculty director and a renowned expert on digital transformation
Today, every business is a digital business. In every industry, traditional business models and processes are being transformed by the spread of new digital technologies and the rise of disruptive threats. If electricity transformed manufacturing during the Industrial Revolution, the impact of digital technology today is even greater.
Digital is changing the constraints under which every business and every domain of strategy operates. In order to adapt and thrive, organizations need leaders who can think strategically and harness each wave of digital change to create new value for customers and new opportunities for their business.
The Digital Business Leadership Program, over a six-month learning journey, enhances your skills on strategy in the digital age, data analytics, disruptive business models, and how to lead digital transformation in your own organization.
During the on-campus immersions you will meet and interact with Ivy League faculty, digital experts from the Columbia Startup Lab and the city’s thriving technology sector. A key program component — a personal case project — enables you to develop a strategic plan for digital transformation in your own organization. The Silicon Valley module helps you learn from organizations at the forefront of the digital revolution, and interact with eminent speakers from the Valley’s ecosystem of startups, investors, and innovation hubs.
At the end of the six-month journey, participants receive select Columbia Business School alumni benefits and graduate with a Certificate in Business Excellence.

The Digital Business Leadership program will help talented leaders prepare to take on larger digital transformation roles. All the key elements of the Digital Business Leadership program experience Ñ the faculty, the content, peer interactions and application exercises etc. Ñ are designed speciÞcally for participants with:
The Digital Business Leadership Program was a very fulfilling experience and the diversity of the class really helped everyone make the most of it. Through the program I have discovered new tools to showcase some of my strengths. It showed me how I can turn on creative innovation by inspiring others, how to develop a common customer language to approach business challenges, and how to convince others that the digital transformation goes way beyond technology and starts with an individual mindset shift followed by a common cultural change ambition.
"The value and knowledge I received from the curriculum and professors have exceeded my expectations. There are many lessons that I have already applied to my work. Needless to say, the network I got to build at the program is also invaluable."
"The program is a great balance of theory and practical learnings as well as company visits and tours of innovative centers. Since the completion of the program, my views on digital have changed. I am much clearer on the many ways to define ‘digital’. The pace of change is so fast that the old ways won't last in the future and therefore being open to a whole new paradigm is key."
"What really drove me to choose this program was the opportunity to meet people who are top leaders going through change and facing challenges and to share experiences and potential solutions to organizational problems. The faculty at Columbia Business School provide a wealth of knowledge bringing their first-hand experience from advising top companies that have been facing disruption successfully."
