Guests, families & friends of the Class of 2020: The below information is important to know for the rescheduled in-person ceremony that will take place in Spring 2021.
Guests will be required to show their ticket to enter the graduation tent. Young children who will sit on an adult’s lap do not require a ticket. Children who will require their own seat will require their own ticket. Tickets are distributed to graduating students.
Please visit the Columbia Business School website for information about getting to campus.
There is no on-campus parking, and due to the volume of guests and the other activities in the area that day, parking is notoriously difficult. We strongly recommend the use of public transportation, a car service, or taxi service to travel to and from campus. However, there are several parking garages in the neighborhood surrounding Columbia University.
We have compiled a list of local hotels that have agreed to provide special rates to the families and guests of graduates. Request the Columbia University rate when booking.
Guests with Disabilities
We are committed to making the Columbia Business School graduation events accessible to all guests. Please read our detailed information on disability services, and feel free to call Disability Services at (212) 854-2388 or email [email protected] for more information.
We offer free stroller parking in the outer west and east lawns, Furnald Lawn & Hamilton Lawn. A map can be accessed here.
What to Wear
Business casual attire is recommended, though not required, for guests attending the Recognition and/or Commencement ceremony. Guests are advised to wear shoes appropriate for walking on grassy areas. In May, the weather in New York City is unpredictable, and guests are encouraged to plan for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. A jacket and umbrella are wise to bring. The Recognition ceremony is held outdoors under tents, rain or shine.
