We are committed to making the Columbia Business School graduation events accessible to all guests. Disability Services coordinates this effort, and services will be available to guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, and those with visual or hearing impairment.
The below information relates to the in-person Full-Time MBA Recognition Ceremony for the Class of 2020 that will be rescheduled for Spring 2021.
Entrance to Campus
Guests who use a wheelchair, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, and those with strollers for young children are advised to use the Campus Walk East entrance, located at 116th Street on Amsterdam Avenue. From there, guests will be closest to the ADA seating and there will be designated staff to assist as needed. Ramps will be available from the street level to the lawn seating.
As we celebrate our graduating class, we wish to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy the festivities. For our guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, or those with very young children, ADA approved seating will be available on the South Field East lawn. More information regarding ADA seating will be available in the spring.
There is no on-campus parking. However, there are several parking garages in the neighborhood surrounding Columbia University. Drivers are advised to drop off and pick up passengers with disabilities at the accessible gate listed above. Please note, while there is limited parking available in the area, we strongly recommend that any guests able to use public transportation, a car service, or taxi service to travel to and from campus do so. Due to the volume of guests and the other activities in the area that day, parking is notoriously difficult. We encourage everyone to plan extra travel time and be patient with possible street closures and delays in service.
Services for Guests with Visual Disabilities
Large-print programs will be available at the ADA seating entrance from 116th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
Services for Guests who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Closed captioning will be provided on all of the screens located throughout the guest seating area.
