When producing video in-house or with a supplier/vendor, consider the types deliverables you will need based on your audience goals and promotional strategy.

YouTube

Columbia Business School’s official YouTube channel has 25,000 subscribers and automagically feeds the School’s video library site.

  • Maximum file size: 128GB
  • Video thumbnail: 1280x720

Facebook

Facebook native video (video posted directly to Facebook’s platform, rather than linking to a video externally) has become an essential brand-marketing tool, with 75+ percent yearly growth in videos views.

  • Native video: 720p; 1280x720
  • Video thumbnail: 1280x720
  • Maximum file size:  4GB

To make sure your videos are high quality, try to:

  • Add high definition (HD) videos
  • Make your video shorter
  • Make the file size smaller

Tip: 85 percent of Facebook users watch video with sound turn off. Consider creative solutions to offer text on screen or video content that works without sound.
