As of August 9, 2018, please go to https://uni.columbia.edu (uni dot columbia dot edu) and change your University password. Once you change your University password, it will be synchronized to CBS and will also become your CBS password. Going forward, your University username/password and your CBS username/password will be identical. To change your University password you will have two options:
Change Your Password | |
---|---|

Forgot Your Password? | |

If you have any issues or questions, please contact the Faculty Support team at [email protected] or (212) 854-6097 (ext. 4-6097 on campus).
As normal when changing your password, you will be prompted to re-log in to any authenticated service such as email (Outlook, web, and smartphone), CBS-Secure wifi, your CBS configured computer, and more. You may not be prompted right away, as it can take up to 30 minutes for the password change to replicate across the various CBS systems.
NOTE: If you have a CBS configured computer and have changed your password while off campus (i.e. not connected to a CBS network), you must continue to use your old CBS password when logging into your laptop until you return to campus.
While you're at it, why not set up Multifactor Authentication? This is a great service offered by the University to help you better protect your University accounts and information.
In December 2017, Glenn Hubbard, then the School’s dean, announced a “Discovery Project” that would “identify opportunities for partnership and joint technology services with the goal of providing expanded resources and services to the School." That project has been successfully completed and implementation of that vision has begun.
One of the priorities of this effort is to eliminate the distinction and confusion between your CBS username/password and your CU username/password, and this one-time password change outside the normal cycle is required to implement that. In future, you will use the same credentials to access any University or School hosted sites or services, though over time the login screens may look different as individual sites are migrated from CBS to CU infrastructure. More communication will be coming about this process over the course of the next year.
Your ITG support team will continue to be available to address any questions, issues or concerns you may have!
