About the Event

Bringing together leading scholars from the top business schools, the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Academic Conference was hosted by Columbia Business School in co-sponsorship with INSEAD and Harvard Business School. The overarching goal of the conference was to examine and identify opportunities, challenges, and cutting-edge practices for disseminating diversity education within business school curricula. In attendance were faculty experts and educational practitioners from some of the world’s leading business schools including those from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, London Business School, MIT Sloan, NYU Stern, UCLA Anderson, and University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

The cross-institutional collaboration allowed conference attendees to share their experiences teaching and engaging students on DEI topics. Attendees also participated in a series of innovative exercises and case materials related to these timely topics, as well as shared pedagogical approaches that they have found to be effective.

Columbia Business School is looking forward to participating in next year’s conference which will be hosted by one of our co-sponsoring business schools.
