Re-Orientation for the Class of 2017 took place on Friday, September 9th, 2016
Re-Orientation brings together all 11 clusters to kick off the second year of the MBA program. Students work together with their clusters in contests, network across clusters, and hear remarks from student leaders, management professors, and alumni speakers. The Emerging Leader and Exemplary Leadership Awards are presented during Re-Orientation.
The Emerging Leader Award is given to one student in each cluster. This award is designed to recognize students who stretched themselves and developed as leaders over the first year, in the eyes of their classmates. The focus is on informal leadership rather than leadership in formal cluster and club positions. Recipients are selected based on ratings by classmates on the Growth 360, including open-ended comments. Leadership Lab then seeks corroboration from campus partners to make the final selections. The Emerging Leader Award recipients from 2016 can be found here.
The Exemplary Leadership Award was created in conjunction with this event to recognize alumni who model for the rest of us paths of leadership that many at CBS aspire to. Our recipients combined technical skills with leadership skills and personal passions to emerge as leaders in their mid-career. The Exemplary Leadership Award recipients from 2016 can be found here.
