Environment

From construction to the operation of the completed buildings, Columbia Business School’s new home is designed to have minimal impact on the environment. Part of Columbia University’s Manhattanville Campus, which is the first neighborhood development in New York City to earn the prestigious LEED-ND Platinum designation from the US Green Building Council, the Business School will pursue the same groundbreaking “clean construction” techniques that are in use across the site. Updated infrastructure will allow for efficient use of water, while the buildings will also take advantage of sunlight to maintain maximum energy efficiency.

In addition, the Business School’s new facilities will include dedicated space for bicycle parking for members of the School community, while the landscaped grounds between the School’s new buildings will highlight Columbia’s commitment to a greener New York City.
