Schedule a Tutoring Session

Appointments should be scheduled and/or cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.

To schedule a 1:1 Peer Tutoring session or Group Peer Tutoring session with any available tutor for a specific course, take the following steps in Starfish :

  • Select the three horizontal bars on the top left of the screen to initiate a dropdown menu
  • Navigate to the Courses channel
  • Scroll to the course to be the subject of the tutoring session. Identify which service you would like (“Group Tutoring” or “1:1 Peer Tutoring”), and click the corresponding “schedule appointment” link
  • Select duration of appointment [ie. Tutoring (1 hour duration) or Tutoring (30 minute duration)]
  • Calendar range will automatically be set to the upcoming three days. You may adjust the date range using the dynamic calendar on the left side of the page
  • A list of available appointments will appear on the right side of the screen. Select a time for the session and click continue
  • Details of your appointment will be displayed. You must indicate the course topic for the tutoring session by clicking the “add a course” link (Note: If selecting a Group appointment, only the first student to sign-up will be able to indicate the course topic. If the course is already reflected here, please be sure that this is the course for which you would like group tutoring, otherwise, click cancel and select another available appointment.) You may provide additional details for the session in the comment box provided.
  • Click Confirm
  • Remember to follow-up by booking a room and/or communicating a place to meet with your tutor
