Columbia Business School Ushers In Centennial Milestone With The Launch Of A Multi-Year Celebration
NEW YORK — Columbia Business School today announced the launch of its centennial celebration, unveiling a new website, announcing an array of events, and rolling out a series of videos all designed to commemorate the School’s landmark achievements over the past 100 years while simultaneously looking to define the School’s future impact on business and society.
“Since 1916, Columbia Business School has been shaping the landscape of the modern business world as a producer of cutting-edge research and ideas, innovator in the way education is delivered, and developer of a global network of extraordinary influence,” said Glenn Hubbard, dean of Columbia Business School. “Throughout this year and next, our global community will join together in celebration, commemorating the School’s pivotal accomplishments and offering insight into what the future holds for industry and education. Together, we will help usher in a new century of impact, innovation, and community.”
Hundreds of activities are planned over the 15-month celebration. Three notable highlights include the Centennial Symposium, Centennial Dinner, and Global Centennial Showcase.
In May 2016, the School will host a symposium bringing together top academics and leading practitioners to discuss the greatest challenges facing business and management education today. The symposium, titled “A Century of Impact, A Future of Innovation,” will serve as the signature event of the School’s celebration.
The Centennial Symposium will conclude with the School’s Centennial Dinner, an event bringing together alumni, friends, corporate sponsors, and guests in an evening of support for Columbia Business School.
To bring the celebration to the doorsteps of our alumni, Dean Hubbard will conduct a Global Centennial Showcase, a 14-city tour where he will share success stories unearthed from Columbia’s archives while at the same time providing alumni with a glimpse of what’s in store for the School’s next 100 years.
Dean Hubbard added: “Since its inception, Columbia Business School has always been defined by the impact that our community has made. As new challenges arise in future economies, I’m confident that our community will continue to be at the center of solving these challenges and creating a more prosperous world for all. I’m excited to celebrate a century at the very center of business, and I hope all of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends will be a part of our centennial festivities.”
