NEW YORK—As digital technologies define and drive a new era in patient care, Columbia Business School Executive Education has teamed up with HITLAB, a digital health innovation organization that focuses on the diffusion of technology to improve lives worldwide, to offer an industry-first program that distills how digital technologies can transform life science research, clinical development, patient experience, operations, and business models.
“Digital technologies are changing the healthcare sector at an unprecedented pace,” said Stan Kachnowski, PhD, chair of HITLAB and program faculty director. “It is a priority area for the health ecosystem at large.”
Remote patient monitoring devices, electronic health records, big data, artificial intelligence, and mobile apps that promote individual well-being are all part of the digital health industry that is projected to exceed $379.3 billion worldwide by 2024—a 25% growth rate from 2016. The first program under this partnership, Digital Health Strategy, will take place in March 2019. In addition, Columbia Business School Executive Education and HITLAB will hold an inaugural launch event on Friday, November 9, in New York City bringing together industry leaders to discuss the future of technology’s impact on delivering quality patient care.
