Taimur Dawood ’99
Taimur Dawood currently serves as chairman of Descon, which includes Descon Engineering, Descon Oxychem, and Descon Power Solutions, among other Descon enterprises in the power sector. He is also the managing director of Gray Mackenzie Engineering Services in the Netherlands.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Columbia University. Prior to joining Descon, Mr. Dawood worked as an equity analyst at Graham Partners, a technology-focused hedge fund. He also worked at UBS as a technology analyst.
Mr. Dawood has over 15 years of work experience in a variety of fields that include product marketing, project finance, strategy development and implementation, turnaround management, and mergers and acquisitions. From 2001 to 2011, he was the chief executive officer of Descon Chemicals.
In addition to serving on the board of directors of various Descon companies, Mr. Dawood is a board and charter member of the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He is also the former president of the Young Presidents’ Organization's Indus chapter.
