Benefits & Features
Columbia's Executive MBA Program is designed for busy professionals who have the motivation and drive to do more, be more, and who want to make a positive impact on their organizations right now. Here's a quick overview as to why Columbia is the right place to make that happen.
Theory in Practice
Your value at the office will rise instantly as you learn new skills on Saturday and apply them Monday to pressing work challenges. Our faculty members will give you new perspectives and a deeper understanding of timely issues and, in collaboration with your learning team, you’ll work on finding innovative solutions to real-world problems facing businesses today.
Community building begins right at the start of the EMBA program, as admitted students are assigned to clusters of 30 to 60 fellow students who take all their first-year core classes together. As diverse as the class itself, each cluster is made up of people from all over the world, with a wealth of different skills, ideas, leadership styles, and work experience.
Columbia’s relationship to New York City cannot be underestimated when choosing an MBA program. The city fuels so much of what happens at the School and feeds our programs with exceptional faculty members and practitioners willing to give of their time and talents through our Executives in Residence Program, Master Classes, speaking engagements, and conferences.
At the very heart of our philosophy is the entrepreneurial mindset. Our courses will teach you to emphasize your individual initiative by identifying, valuing, and capturing opportunity no matter what field you’re in.
No business school alumni network is more accessible than Columbia's. From day one, you will be connected to more than 40,000 alumni who work in more than 100 countries, often at the very top of their fields. Their passion for the School is reflected in the time they give to students through mentoring, lectures, internships, and so much more. The benefits are exponential for you and your company.
The Career Management Center (CMC) offers support specifically designed for Executive MBA students and has a team dedicated to meeting your needs. They’ll provide the strategic tools you need to advance within your company and achieve your goals in every stage of your career.
We know our program requires students to focus their energies in many directions at the same time. To keep you on track, your class will have a dedicated staff member to help you navigate the program. We also offer a number of services to ensure that your daily life runs smoothly, including free textbook delivery to your home or office, catered meals and snacks every class day, drop-off technical support for laptops, free tutoring services, and recorded and live-streamed review sessions.
To accommodate the needs of busy professionals, Columbia’s Executive MBA Program offers a multitude of scheduling options, giving students from all over the world a way to access our world-class MBA without leaving their jobs. We also offer block weeks and international seminars.
With a curriculum focused on global issues, classmates from around the world, and faculty members with extensive international experience and influence, you'll expand your worldview as an EMBA student and get a true 360-degree perspective on the business world today. All EMBA students will participate in an international seminar, and those interested in delving into a deeper global experience should consider applying to the EMBA-Global program, our groundbreaking partnership with London Business School and the University of Hong Kong.
