The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate is pleased to welcome the following new alumni to the Real Estate Circle: Brent Connell ’95 and Eric Tam ’08 as Leaders.
Since 2018, Brent Connell has been a Managing Director at Geneva Capital Group, Inc., a boutique real estate lending firm specializing in commercial construction lending from $5M to $100MM+. Prior to Geneva, Brent was SVP at a Chicago community bank running their loan department. Additionally, he founded a private advisory group with two other CBS alum to provide strategic advisement to 50+ community banks across the US and had a stint with a private investment fund in NYC.
Eric Tam is a Managing Director at Blackstone, having joined the Strategic Partners group in 2016. Strategic Partners is a leading global investor in the alternative asset secondary market. Based in London, Mr. Tam manages the international real estate activities of Strategic Partners and sits on the group’s Real Estate Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Tam was a Vice President at H/2 Capital Partners, where he focused on commercial real estate credit investments and capital markets activities in the U.S. and Europe. Before joining H/2, Mr. Tam was an Associate at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, where he focused on acquisitions for both opportunistic and core fund strategies. Prior to that, Mr. Tam was a Manager at Accenture in the Financial Services practice, specializing in mortgage banking.
Mr. Tam received a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
