The Columbia Business School Real Estate Association (REA) is pleased to announce the board (Co-Presidents and Vice Presidents) for the 2021–22 academic year. The officers, all in the class of 2022, were elected by the REA membership.
Meet the board!
Daniel Vasserman is a full-time student at Columbia Business School (CBS) as a member of the Class of 2022, where he is focusing on real estate private equity. This summer, Daniel will intern at CIM Group in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to serving as Co-President of the Real Estate Association (REA), Daniel is also a VP for the Jewish Business Students Association, a Career Fellow for the school’s Career Management Center, and a Social Chair for his Cluster. Prior to starting at CBS, Daniel was an Executive Director for the Commercial Real Estate business of JPMorgan Chase. He led the Boston office for his group, overseeing a multifamily portfolio with a $1.4B capitalization. He was responsible for originating commercial mortgages, sourcing new business opportunities, and managing the relationship of over 200 real estate clients, which included family offices, institutional investors, and merchant builders. Daniel completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
Katie Hogan is a member of Columbia Business School Class of 2022 and elected Co-President of the CBS 500 member Real Estate Association. In her first year at CBS, Katie served as the AVP of Events for the Real Estate Association. Additionally, Katie serves as Social Chair for CBS Cluster E 2022 and is a Hermes Society Ambassador. This summer, she will intern for Welltower in its New York office in capital markets and investments. Prior to attending CBS, Katie completed two pre-MBA internships - at Harrod Properties, where she launched a healthcare acquisitions fund, and Strategic Property Partners (3 billion dollar development partnership between Bill Gates & Jeff Vinik). Prior to her internships, she was an associate at Morgan Stanley on one of Forbes top 25 wealth management teams with assets under management of $9.8B. Katie graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2016 with a B.A. in Political Science.
Winnie Hui is a member of the Columbia Business School Class of 2022, focusing on real estate. This summer, she will be at Invesco on their real estate acquisitions team. Prior to CBS, Winnie worked in capital raising and investor relations at DivcoWest. Before DivcoWest, she was on the Technology Equity Capital Markets investment banking team at J.P. Morgan. Winnie graduated from University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business Administration and minor in Real Estate Development.
Brandon Hoffman is a member of the 2022 class at Columbia Business School, focusing on Real Estate and Technology. Brandon graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Finance. Prior to joining business school, Brandon was a Leasing Manager at Macerich, helping Digitally Native Brands like Warby Parker and Peloton open up brick and mortar stores across the country. Prior to Macerich, Brandon was a Senior Associate at Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp where he managed over 2m square feet of urban retail in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Washington, D.C.
Erika Jobson is a member of the Columbia Business School Class of 2022, and is the VP of Case Competitions for the Real Estate Association. Prior to CBS, she worked in real estate development in Los Angeles for a boutique multifamily developer and owner/operator. In this role, she underwrote multifamily, tax-credit financed development opportunities and managed the development process full cycle from cradle to grave. Erika graduated from Cornell University in 2016 with a B.A. in Government and minor in Real Estate and is a NAREIM Jeff Barclay Fellow.
Robin Mesirow is a member of Columbia Business School's Class of 2022. Prior to CBS, Robin worked as an HR Analyst for Boston Consulting Group. She came to CBS to establish a career in Real Estate. In addition to being on the board of the REA, Robin is on the board of the Columbia Women in Business club, is a student ambassador for the Hermes Society, and is part of the Non-profit Board Leadership Program. Robin graduated from the University of Michigan in 2017 with a degree in economics and organizational studies.
Jeff Grasso is a 2022 MBA student at Columbia Business School focused on real estate and finance. Before CBS, Jeff worked as an Associate in Fixed Income Sales & Trading at Societe Generale, covering over eighty institutional clients. Jeff also has his real estate salesperson license with Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices in Westchester, NY. In addition to his Real Estate Association role, Jeff serves as the Career Chair for CBS Cluster B 2022. Jeff graduated with a B.A. from Union College in 2016.
Melissa Blotner is a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022. Prior to CBS, Melissa worked as a software engineer and team lead for Novetta Solutions while also maintaining an interest in real estate. She has worked various summers at a real estate development and investment company and as a real estate agent in Boston, and is particularly interested in the intersection of real estate and technology. Melissa graduated from Tufts University in 2016 with a B.S. in Computer Science and is also involved with the Technology and Data Analytics Association at CBS.
Eric Chapek is a member of Columbia Business School's class of 2022 and the VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the Real Estate Association. Previously, he worked at Meridian Capital Group, a commercial real estate mortgage brokerage firm headquartered in New York City. At Meridian, Eric closed over $3B of debt transactions across the major real estate asset types. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, with concentrations in finance and international business.
Caaminee Pandit is an EMBA student in the Friday / Saturday Class of 2022 and also works full time as a Development Manager at Lendlease, where she is responsible for facilitating the design, equity and debt financing, sales and marketing, and delivery of new developments. Her current project is 100 Claremont, a 350,000 SF mixed-use Robert A.M. Stern condominium in Morningside Heights. Ms. Pandit has worked across real estate disciplines including development, private equity, debt, and community development for both institutions and family offices. Before Lendlease, Ms. Pandit was a Vice President at Criterion Group, LLC, a local developer in Long Island City, NY, where she managed the development process for 1,000 multifamily units in Long Island City and Astoria, New York City and worked on the negotiation of approximately $500M of land and property acquisitions and bridge and construction financing. Prior to Criterion, she worked at JPMorgan Chase financing commercial real estate assets in the NY Metro Region. She began her career at National Equity Fund, a community development financial institution focusing on New Market Tax Credit financing across the nation. Ms. Pandit received her A.B. from Princeton University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Columbia Business School.
Jonathan Braun is a member of Columbia Business School's Class of 2022. He is currently an Executive Vice President at G. Holdings, where he is responsible for real estate acquisitions and developments in the U.S. and Europe, and oversees a large portfolio of domestic properties for the company. He is Co-President of the Hospitality and Travel Association, is an active member of the Private Equity Club, and will serve as Course Assistant for Real Estate Finance this summer. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Bottom Line NY, a nonprofit focused on improving college graduation rates for impoverished New Yorkers. Jonathan graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2012 with a degree in English Literature and Financial Economics.
Sam Kornblau is a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022. Prior to CBS, Sam was a paralegal at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he worked on the formation and operation of a variety of investment funds. Originally from New York City, Sam graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. This summer, Sam is working at Anchor Health Properties on the investments team.
Andrew Yuan is a member of Columbia Business School Class of 2022. He is a passionate entrepreneur who is cofounder of two companies and one restaurant. Prior to CBS, he runs his real estate brokerage Highkey LLC. At the same time, he also runs a Japanese Omakase restaurant called IKEBANA ZEN locate at Hell’s kitchen. Andrew holds a master’s degree of Integrated marketing from New York University. Equipped with a creative mind that is determined to make significant contribution in every aspect of working experience.
Jack Davis is the VP of Finance of the Real Estate Association and a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022. In addition to his role on the REA Board, he serves as Co-President of the West Coast Society. Prior to Columbia, Jack worked as an analyst with the Fundamental Equity Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York. During this time, he served as a client portfolio manager for the US Growth business and an equity research analyst focusing on the Technology sector. Jack graduated from Arizona State University in 2016 with a BS in Accounting and a minor in Economics.
Kasia Kolpa-Zarowska is a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022 focusing on Real Estate and Technology. Prior to CBS, Kasia worked as an architect at Gensler in their Silicon Valley office helping big tech clients strategize about their portfolios and design for modern workplaces. Kasia is originally from Krakow, Poland and graduated from Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University with a BE and MA in architecture and Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Project Management. This summer, Kasia is interning at White Star Real Estate with their Development team.
Mason Oh is a member of Columbia Business School Class of 2022 and VP of J-term for the Real Estate Association. Prior to CBS, Mason worked in Acquisitions team at Mirae Asset Global Investments, second largest investment management firm in Korea, with total AUM of $200B. At Mirae, he analyzed more than 130 commercial real estate projects across the globe and engaged in more than $8B deal size in total. Prior to Mirae, he worked at LaSalle Investment Management, where he was involved with over $1B of capital raising from top-ranked Asian institutions such as National Pension Service. Mason graduated from Korea University in 2014 with a double major in Economics and Financial Engineering.
Sam Mitrani is a member of the 2022 class at Columbia Business School. Sam graduated from the University of Maryland in 2014 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and from the University of Florida in 2015 with a M.S. in Civil Engineering. Prior to joining business school, Sam was a Project Manager at WeWork where he managed a team through the design and construction of new WeWork co-working offices in Boston, Chicago, and Detroit. Sam will be joining Greystar as a Summer Development Associate for his summer internship.
Bryce Cason is a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022. Prior to CBS, Bryce was with the fund placement group at Campbell Lutyens, a London-based private capital advisor, where he raised capital for private equity fund managers. Before that, Bryce was with the Asset Management group at Perella Weinberg Partners, focused on infrastructure hedge funds. Bryce began his career with Concho Resources, an energy exploration company in Texas, as a commercial negotiator. Bryce holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa, where he majored in Finance and Energy Management.
Sydney Lampert is a member of Columbia Business School’s Class of 2022 and is Co-VP of Site Tours & Company Visits for the Real Estate Association. Prior to CBS, she was Vice President of Credit at Starwood Property Trust where she oversaw underwriting, due diligence, and closing of commercial real estate debt-related acquisitions, inclusive of new issue CMBS, secondary-market CMBS bond transactions, and other CRE debt-related investments. Sydney graduated from Emory University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a minor in Middle East and South Asian Studies.
Manuela Manrique is a member of the Columbia Business School Class of 2022 focusing on Real Estate Development. Prior to CBS, Manuela worked at Nicolas Manrique Construccion. A firm that specializes in high-end development and construction in Colombia, where she was the marketing and sales director. Additionally, Manuela has experience as a Development Manager. Manuela was born and raised in the Real Estate Industry. She enjoys travelling to new places and is always in the hunt for modern and minimalist architecture.nShe is a member of the International Federation of Real Estate- FIABCI and the Green Building Council of Sustainable Construction. Manuela graduated Cum Laude from American University with a dual degree in Business and Environmental Studies.
