Eric Schaffer ’18 Wins YM/WREA Scholarship

Eric Schaffer ’18, the Vice President of Events in the Real Estate Association (REA), was awarded the David Winoker Scholarship by the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York. The award recognizes personal and professional success and charitable or community service involvement by a real estate student studying in New York.
Eric is a New Jersey native focused on real estate investment and development. After graduating from Emory University, Eric worked at Cushman & Wakefield's Shanghai office, where he helped lead the China Investment & Capital Markets division for several years. In 2015, he co-founded Core Capital Asia, a pure-play cross border real estate investment advisory firm focused on channeling outbound China-centric capital to real estate projects in key global markets.
The mission of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York is to unite young men and women whose principal occupation is the real estate profession. This scholarship, initiated in 2012, honors David Winoker, an important member of the organization and highly respected figure within the industry. The YMWREA’s mission is to bring together young professionals from the real estate industry to investigate, debate, promote, and publicize policies for the benefit the industry, the Association, and its members; to cooperate with all other organizations with common purpose and goals; to unite in common action to further these goals; to promote greater understanding and knowledge among its members; and to strive to secure the highest standing of ethical and moral professional conduct by its members and the entire industry.
