Kaspar Speckle writes: " I started my education at the School in September 1963; graduated in October 1964. I received a Fulbright travel grant and traveled by ship to NY, as well as a fellowship from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The most impressive event I witnessed was while in Low Library studying -- some students had radios, and all of sudden came the news that President Kennedy was shot. We were all completely stunned. The International House organized to drive for the funeral. I also remember the dedicated of the new Uris Hall new on March 20, 1964. I formed a great group of international friends from the United States, South Africa, Great Britain, and Austria, and we still get together. I went on to earn a PhD in 1967 at the Vienna Business school. Studying at Columbia was the experience of a lifetime for me, and I become co-founded the Austria-Germany-Switzerland Alumni Club. The club meets every year for four days - each year organized by alumni in one of the countries."

Thomas Butler writes: "I won't be at reunion, so wanted to share this instead: retired at 65 in Denver after a career as an internal management consultant with the state of Colorado -- not Wall Street, but challenging enough. (Although five years ahead of him in school, appears I've been less successful than Henry Kravis, '69. Why is that?) Cholesterol level a bit high but otherwise in good health."
