2010 Social Enterprise Conference: Closing Keynote - Raj Shah

Raj Shah, administrator of USAID, delivers the closing keynote at the 2010 Social Enterprise Conference, echoing the day's themes of developing and scaling innovations to improve the world. Since taking leadership of the agency in January 2010, Dr. Shah has worked to promote an evidence-based approach to aid and also greater risk-taking. His presentation highlights the new Development Innovation Ventures Fund, which follows a venture capital model of funding early-stage projects, testing them, and then taking these field-tested ideas to scale. In his presentation, Dr. Shah announces the first batch of projects financed through the fund, which will provide much-needed points of entry for social entrepreneurs to work with USAID.
